Mezzanine racks are suitable for places where the warehouse is high, the goods light,  storage volume large and using workers to store and retrieve goods. The construction of mezzanine racking has certain requirements for the height of the warehouse and the weight of the goods stored.

Application of mezzanine racks

1.  High warehouses

Mezzanine-type shelving pay more attention to the utilization of the upper space than other storage racks, and the number of tiers can be designed according to the weight and quantity of the goods. Usually, the height of the warehouse is more than four meters, and the mezzanine shelving are mostly two to three tiers.

2. Warehouse with large storage capacity

Mezzanine racking are fit for storing some light and medium-sized goods. However, this does not mean that the load-bearing capacity of mezzanine shelves is very light. The overall structure of mezzanine shelves is a steel structure, and the load capacity per square meter can reach 300kg-800kg. If there is a higher load-bearing requirement , you can also customize I-beam loft shelving, which can bear a load of up to 1000kg per square meter, but the cost is relatively high.

3. Warehouses that need to relocate racks

Mezzanine racking are not welded but adopt an interlocking structure, which is easy to disassemble and install. This is the best choice for companies that need to move and store goods from time to time. Reinstallation after disassembly will not affect the shelving system.

4. Warehouses that mostly use manual handling methods

Shelves are placed on the upper and lower floors of the attic, so warehouse personnel can use the stairs to go to the upper platform to store and retrieve goods.

Some companies, in order to increase the storage area of the warehouse, build lofts on the basis of existing shelves, which can store small and medium-sized goods for a long time.

The lower space is used as a large cargo storage area, and the upper space is used as a small cargo storage area.

When using mezzanine shelving, the heavier goods are placed on the first floor, and the lighter goods are placed on the second or even third floor. The distance between the uprights of mezzanine platform racks is usually within 4~6m, the first floor is about 3m high, and the second and third floors are about 2.5m high. The shelf uprights are usually made of square tubes or round tubes, and the main and auxiliary beams are usually made of H-shaped steel. Floor panels usually use cold-rolled steel floor panels, patterned steel floor panels, steel grilles, etc.

For clothing accessories warehouses, the focus of management is items of different styles, colors, and sizes. There are many types of fabrics and accessories to be stacked, making management difficult. Mezzanine-type shelving are multi-layer shelves, generally designed with 2-3 floors. They are suitable for higher warehouses. Those products placed on the shelves are relatively light in weight, and the goods can be stored and retrieved manually.
