Pallet shelving belongs to heavy-duty shelves, also known as crossbeam rack, which is a type of widely used storage tool. It mainly consists of beams and uprights. According to storage needs, it can also be used in conjunction with steel laminates, fences, metal back nets, support bars, etc. to meet the needs of storing different items. The advantages of pallet racks are large load capacity (over 500KG), simple shelving structure, convenient disassembly and assembly, and low cost, which is suitable for most products and warehouses.
Items that can be placed:
1. Goods: Household appliances, food, automotive accessories, clothing, daily necessities, etc.
2. Packaging box: The design of pallet racks can accommodate packaging boxes of various sizes and weights.
3. Appliances: Pallet shelves can hold appliances with various sizes and shapes, such as furniture, machine parts, tools, etc.
4. Food: This type of shelving can be used for the storage of Canning.
5. Building materials: To store and display various building materials, Like, tiles, wood, metal products, wires and cables, etc.
6. Medicine: Different layout can be designed based on different drug characteristics and sizes.
Requirements for storage:
1. Appropriate stacking methods should be adopted based on specifications of the goods. If here is direct stacking model, the product must be wrapped with packaging film before them being put on the shelf;
2. For goods that are easily loose, easy to collapse, or light one in a single box, protective measures should be added after stacking, such as strapping, to prevent collapse caused by vibration or movement;
3. When picking goods, it is important to pay attention to take out them layer by layer from top to bottom, and not picking goods on the same side. Otherwise, it may result in uneven load bearing of the tray and easy tilting and collapse;
4. The pallet should be placed stably on the shelf beam, and the length of the tray should be about 10cm larger than the outer diameter of the shelf beam; Horizontally, the distance between adjacent pallets is about 10cm-15cm;
5. The difference between the height of commodity stacking and the height of the shelf should be more than 15cm, making it convenient for forklift loading and unloading goods;
6. The height of a single tray placed on a high shelf cannot exceed 140cm.
Advantages and characteristics
1. The pallet racks have a large span and high load-bearing capacity. The span (length) of pallet shelving is mainly determined by the size of the pallets, and generally one layer of shelves can accommodate two regular pallets. If a single pallet carries a particularly large load (over 3 tons), only a single pallet can be placed in each layer.
2. Stable structure. Expansion screws must be installed on the feet of the pallet rack to ensure the stability of the pallet rack.
3. No need of panels. Generally speaking, pallet racks do not require panels, and generally two cross beams are installed for each pallet position. This can save costs to the greatest extent.
4. The number of layers of pallet racks can be customized. The number of layers can be determined according to the height of the warehouse, the height of products and other conditions. There is no need for beams on the bottom floor, and the pallets are placed directly on the ground.
5. High adaptability. Pallet shelvings are suitable for different types of storage warehouses. They can increase warehouse utilization, and have the characteristics of flexible and are convenient for storage.
What precautions should be taken when storing goods ?
1. If a forklift is used to storage and retrieval of pallets, the forklift should not collide with the rack pillars while driving.
2. Follow the principle that the cargo on the lower layer is heavy and the cargo on the upper layer is light.
3. Goods should not be overloaded, and the products on pallets shall be placed in a standardized manner to prevent them from falling off;
4. The weight on pallet should be uniform, and one side should not be heavy while the other is light;
5. The ground is clean, free from acid or alkaline substances, and free from oil stains, otherwise it will reduce the service life of the pallet;
6. When placing goods, it is important to handle them with care and to ensure the stability and safety of the pallets on the shelves;
7. Remember not to stack the goods too high or overweight. Sufficient space should be left between the goods and the upper floor for easy pick-up.
8. Pallets are designed based on the actual load capacity of different specifications of racks.
Pallet racks are usually designed to be four or five stories high. Thus, its carrying capacity is relatively high in traditional storage racks. Even a few tons of goods, pallet racks can easily handle them. So this kind of racks are widely used in equipment, household appliances, chemicals, important materials, and other fields.
