Those Shelves Suitable for Storing Fabrics

  Large rolls of cloth and small rolls of fabrics with certain specifications are major items in the warehouse of garment factory. For fabrics of different sizes, factories should use dedicated shelves for storage. The common width of knitting fabricis about 1.8-2 meters. The woven cloth is basically 1.53meters, the polyester /cotton fabric is about 1.45-1.55 meters, and the silk is about 1.2-1.4 meters.

  For large rolls of fabrics, merchants usually choose to use heavy duty shelves, which are assembled from beams and columns. The span of unit shelf is generally within 4m, and the depth is generally within 1.5m.

  Steel Panel Shelves

  Panel shelves are usually used for storing small rolls of cloth. The load of each layer can reach more than 500kg, and the height of each layer can be adjusted through the holes on the columns. Since factories adopt manual workers to store and retrieve small rolls of cloth, the shelves are generally designed at a height of less than 3 meters, which is convenient for workers. Those heavy duty racks can also be designed to be placed back to back, suitable for storing cloth of different lengths.

  Stacking Rack

  In addition to panel racks, another type of shelf that is often used by cloth manufacturers is stacking racks. The custom-made cage is a kind of equipment used for large quantities of products with similar sizes. Stacking racks are made of steel, which have high strength, and are brillant for multi-layer stacking of goods. The manager can store and distribute cloth, leather, etc. by category.

  Fabrics are heavy cargo, and each layer of this shelf can carry up to 3 tons products, which is great implements for warehouse with a large inventory.

Stacking racks are generally placed up to two tiers, rarely to four tiers. Use a forklift to store the whole box of cloth on the shelf. When picking up the cloth, you can use a ladder to take the cloth from the stacking rack, or use a forklift to remove the entire rack.

  Pallet Rack

  If the factories plans to use forklifts to storage and get fabrics, pallet racks will be good choice. This kind of shelf is mainly composed of steel frames and beams. The goods are placed on pallets, which are loaded and unloaded by forklifts. It is a type of heavy-duty and high-level shelf, with a load capacity of up to 4 tons per layer. In the clothing industry, pallet racks are also widely used. Companies that store a large amount of long roll fabric can choose this type of shelf.

  Attic Shelf 

  If the warehouse is not large, fabric merchants often use attic shelves to store goods. Attic-style shelves are generally two-story, with heavy-duty shelves on the lower floor for long rolls of cloth; light-weight shelves on the upper floor for loading  finished products or a wide variety of sample fabrics. 

  The attic shelves can fully utilize high-rise space in a limited warehouse area. Workers store and take long rolls of fabric on the first layer, and take finished products on the second layer, which is very convenient.
